Mary P. King, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC

Mary P. King, PhD, RN, CPNP-PC,is certified as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner. Born in Phillips, WI, she received her BSN at UW-Eau Claire; Masters in Pediatric Nursing at Indiana U, Indianapolis, IN, and her PhD in Pediatric Nursing from UT-Austin. She is a graduate of the Army’s Pediatric Nurse Clinician Course, Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center and has a post-Master’s Certificate as a PNP in Primary Care from UT-Austin. A career Army Nurse Corps Officer, she served as a patient care provider, administrator, and researcher, and most recently as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at UT-Austin.

Dr. King has over 14 years as a PNP caring for well and sick children from birth to 21 years of age. Her passion is helping parents understand and enjoy their child while promoting the child’s optimal health.

Dr. King is married, has four grown sons, and two grandsons. She enjoys visiting her children and grandchildren, spending time with her church family, walking, yard work, machine quilting, cross-stitch, needle point, sewing, making greeting cards, writing letters, and reading. She also volunteers at two free clinics, one in Cedar Park and one in Austin.
